(FORT WORTH, TX) – With Christmas and the holidays just around the corner, LVTRise is kicking off its Christmas Angel program at its annual RISE Luncheon on Tuesday, November 7, at 11:30 a.m. at Ridglea Country Club, 3700 Bernie Anderson Ave. Potential donors will have the opportunity to take an Angel, identifying a family in need, to help bring a brighter holiday for many who struggle to meet daily food and health needs in the LVT community.
“Without the continued generosity of our thoughtful donors, we would not be able to fulfill the daily needs of our LVT neighbors,” said LVTRise Executive Director Paige Charbonnet. “Every gift, large and small, makes a difference in this community and we stretch every penny that comes our way.”

During the luncheon, panelists including Fort Worth Police Officer Nelson Ehirim (Officer Easy), LVTRise Development Manager Christian Harris and community member Jason Green, moderated by Cougar Pride Alliance Executive Director Patty Pressley, will discuss the positive impact that LVTRise has had in the community and share how the center is changing lives and families every day.

LVTRise recently received a $25,000 grant from Bank of America to support overall programmatic funding as part of the bank’s commitment to address community needs related to affordable housing, small business resiliency and neighborhood revitalization in DFW.

”LVTRise has become a beacon for what is possible when our corporate partners heed the call of our communities. With a deep commitment to uplifting the communities we serve and building stronger futures for all, Bank of America is walking alongside LVTRise in its path to alleviate the most pressing needs of this community,” said Mike Pavell, Bank of America Fort Worth President.

LVTRise – Rising
LVT began as a mobile community center providing social services and access to resources for area residents after a series of Town Hall meetings uncovered significant deficiencies and a lack of resources in this part of the community. In 2018, the Las Vegas Trail Revitalization Project became the registered nonprofit currently known as LVTRise, Inc. In spring of 2019, Rise Community Center opened to the public providing a permanent home for the organization. In January 2021, the city of Fort Worth opened a branch of the public library system in the community center furthering the resources available.

In May 2022, the Fort Worth City Council approved a land lease agreement that paved the way for a Las Vegas Trail Child Development Campus to become a reality for the high need community. Child Care Associates will build and operate the new facility that will be built adjacent to the existing Rise Community Center. Earlier this year, JPS Health System and Cook Children’s announced a joint medical center to be located at the corner of Calmont Avenue and Cherry Lane in the heart of the Las Vegas Trail neighborhood, which will soon mark its groundbreaking.
Since its inception, LVTRise has dedicated its work to collaborating with community partners, empowering community members through training and case management and impacting the Las Vegas Trail community addressing education, improved quality housing and reducing neighborhood crime.
